How to Manage the Hazard Settings

  1. To start using the hazard log, you will first need to configure the hazard system settings. These should be set according to the defined process in your operations manual.

  2. Under the Admin menu, select Hazard Settings.

  1. Here you will define:

    1. Impacted Operations and Approvers of the risk of the consequence.

An impacted operation can have more than one risk approver. Each approver will be notified every time a new consequence related to their operation has been risk assessed or the associated risk mitigated. Approvers will choose to approve or decline a risk score that is above your organization's acceptable risk score.

  1. Categories which allows you to define the categories by which hazards are classified under. These can be used for filtering when viewing hazards.

  1. Your organization's acceptable risk score. The values in this setting need to match your manual. In the risk matrix, you should choose all the risk score values your organization has defined as acceptable. Any risk score that has not been selected will trigger an approval process of the score with the impacted operation assigned approver.
