Aviation Safety Information Analysis & Sharing (ASIAS)

Aviation Safety Information Analysis & Sharing (ASIAS)

What is it?

  • FAA and aviation community safety analysis and data sharing collaboration to proactively analyze broad and extensive data to advance aviation safety.
  • A central channel for the exchange of de-identified safety data and analytics.
  • Established key safety benchmarks allowing individual operators to assess their own safety performance against the industry as a whole.
  • Analysis of aggregate data and the sharing of information in support of Safety Management Systems.
    • Public and non-public data sources.
    • Directed studies, assessment of safety enhancements, known risk monitoring, and vulnerability discovery.
    • In the interest of enhancing aviation safety, the results of these analyses are shared with ASIAS participants.

What role does Baldwin have?

  • Baldwin has agreements in place to serve as a gateway for clients to share relevant safety information with the ASIAS program.
    • Fixed Wing Data (ASIAS: The MITRE Corporation and FAA)
    • Rotor Wing Data (R-ASIAS: GDIT and FAA) NEW!
  • Baldwin has streamlined the process by providing a single informational port to ASIAS.
  • Baldwin also has the authorization to study, compare, and analyze specific de-identified aggregated safety information on behalf of the client and provide consults as requested.

How can clients participate?

  • Based on Baldwin’s Master MOUs, interested clients execute a simple one-page agreement.
  • Applicable forms (e.g., Safety Reports, UAS Reports, Wildlife Strike Reports, etc.) will have an ASIAS section added to the end of the form to simply identify which reports they want and approve to share.

  • Baldwin will compile and transmit the approved, de-identified data on your behalf for further analysis.

If you wish to voluntarily share relevant safety information with the FAA's Aviation Safety Information Analysis and Sharing (ASIAS) program, contact Baldwin Support to get started!
