Create an Overview Chart of Mapped Events

Create an Overview Chart of Mapped Events

What is it?

After a submitter has mapped an event on a form submission, Form Owners can create a custom overview map showing all the mapped events. They can also filter the events on the overview map by other conditions of the submitted events.

How can Form Owners create an overview of mapped events?

**Be sure to contact Baldwin Support to add the Maps feature to your portal!**

  • Navigate to the Charts(Visualizations) feature under Reporting.

  • Click on New Map in the upper right-hand corner.

  • Name: Provide a name for your overview map (e.g., "All Altitude Deviations"), a start and end date for the data date range, and then select the form with the location question type you would like to use for the data.
  • Style: Select one of the following display options:
    • Distinct Pins - Displays one distinct pin for every coordinate answer submitted during the selected date range.
    • Clustered Pins - Combines nearby pins and displays them in clusters. This is a great option for viewing a large amount of data.

(Distinct Pin style)                                                                (Clustered Pin Style)

    • Next, under Section, select the section on the report in which the location question type resides.
      • Important: If a section is chosen at this step that does not have the location question type, nothing will appear in the Question field.
    • Under Question, select the location question type. Note: This will be the only question type available.
    • Clicking Save in the upper right-hand corner will then display all mapped events submitted for the chosen form type.
    • From here, you can add conditions to further drill down into the data and filter all event to a desired subset.
      • For example, using the altitude deviation scenario, you can create a map with altitude deviations during the approach phase by aircraft N123ZZ.
    • To do this, under Conditions, first select Add.

    • Select the desired section, a question from that section, and an answer by which to first filter.
    • Click Save
    • You can then repeat the steps above to add another condition(s).
