ASAP Submission Workflow for Administrators
What is ASAP?
The goal of the Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) is to enhance aviation safety through the prevention of accidents and incidents. Its focus is to encourage voluntary reporting of safety issues and events that come to the attention of employees of certain certificate holders. Participants sign an MOU with the FAA and submit their voluntary ASAP data directly to them.
- The Baldwin ASAP software is designed to streamline the ASAP process. It allows a user to enter a report, a Manager to review the report, and gives the Event Review Committee (ERC) access to the report for investigation purposes.
Submitting an ASAP Report
A few things to remember:
- Submitter's identity is held confidential during this process! Only your organization’s ASAP Manager knows your identity.
- Due to this confidentiality, after a submission is made, no one in your organization (including the Submitter) can see or access your report except your organization’s ASAP Manager and members of the ERC assigned by the Manager.
Note: ERC members only have restricted access to your de-identified report. - Submitters WILL NOT be able to access your ASAP report after submission, but you will receive a confirmation email upon submission.
ASAP Reviewers
ASAP Reviewers only have access to the reports that the organization's ASAP Manager has assigned to them. When they are assigned to a new form, they will receive an email letting them know it is available in the system.
ASAP Reviewers have a read-only view of the ASAP report and are given a section for discussion comments and to make any notes. This section is called “ASAP Case Discussion” and it is available for the ASAP Manager and ERC to comment on, as well.
- ASAP Reviewers assigned to more than one organization, can use the same user name and password to log in. They can toggle between portals, by clicking on their name in the upper right corner, selecting “Change Organization” and then the organization they would like to view.
